Thousands of years ago, BAKUNAWA, a legendary Philippine serpent, tried (and failed) to devour the moon and rule the cosmos. A curse was placed on him to inhabit a form that reflects his true nature.
Now he is trapped as “BAKU,” a clumsy, insecure tween stuck in a sleepy California surf town. Instead of cosmic conquest, he's got to survive sunburn, gym class, and mortal emotions. But ancient enemies and creatures from Baku’s destructive era are showing up in town disguised as everyday characters, stirring up supernatural trouble.
Now it's up to Baku, his reluctant friend KAT, and their endlessly hungry seagull guardian ARDO to secretly battle these threats, protect their neighbors, and keep the apocalypse off the horizon, one wacky, adventure at a time.
